The protagonist opened his eyes somewhere near the arena of the King of Fighters '94, without any memories. Thugs appeared in front of him, saying they would eliminate the protagonist. Right at that moment, a mysterious girl named Noah suddenly appeared. With Noah's help(?), he was able to learn abilities that he never knew he had. 

His newly found power was that he was able to mimic any KOF fighters' abilities and fighting style in battles. How does our protagonist have such abilities? Noah gave an invitation to the '94 King of Fighter competition to the protagonist who doesn't remember anything except his own name, mentioning he might be able to find clues about himself while meeting other fighters. The King of Fighters is a competition where the best fighters in the world battle against one another to find the strongest fighter. Will our protagonist find clues about his lost memories at the competition?

Meanwhile, there were three people who were watching them with serious looks on their faces. Ein, Ryugo, and Kaya. The three of them are the tuners, and the KOF ALLSTAR original characters. As the protagonist's journey continued, the KOF world kept changing! The 3 tuners tried whatever they could to stop the protagonist's journey and maintain the KOF world that we all remember.

Despite their interference, the protagonist and Noah advanced from the KOF '94, to '95, ‘96, and '97, all while fighting against the giant plot hidden in each competition. And finally, they faced Orochi's resurrection! Orochi could not be defeated with any ordinary attacks, and the world was on the verge of returning to nothingness. But the three people who inherited the ancient powers to defeat Orochi: Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, Chizuru Kagura, also known as the Three Sacred Treasures, fought alongside one another, defeated Orochi, and saved the world.

However, Noah who stayed with the protagonist throughout the competitions disappeared after the final battle. The peaceful days returned. The protagonist still didn't have any memories, and Noah was still missing. He thought if there were any clues to finding anything, they were in the King of Fighters. And he decided to enter the competition once again.
