Gamescom, the world’s premier gaming event, is renowned not only for its sprawling offline exhibition in Cologne, Germany, 
but also for its extensive online programming. 
Among the highlights, Opening Night Live (ONL), the evening showcase held the night before the official opening, remains 
a global must-watch for gamers.
This year, Gamescom 2025 ONL kicked off at 8:00 PM CEST on August 19, running for nearly two hours.   

One of the standout moments was Netmarble’s reveal of a cinematic trailer for its upcoming open world action RPG, 
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin. The trailer offered fans a first glimpse of Britannia’s expansive landscapes, tag team combat, 
and in-game activities.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is a game based on the hit manga and anime The Seven Deadly Sins,  which has sold over 55 million copies worldwide.

While the original manga concluded after an eight-year run, its official sequel, Four Knights of the Apocalypse, extends the story. The game places Tristan, son of Meliodas and Elizabeth, at the center of its narrative, introducing an original multiverse inspired storyline.

The trailer opens with Meliodas standing atop a hill, reflecting on past adventures. In his memories, we see familiar companions, Diane, Ban, King, Gowther, Merlin, and Escanor, inviting players to relive the bonds and journeys they’ve shared.

As Meliodas remarks that “a new destiny awaits,” the spotlight shifts to Tristan, the protagonist of The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, along with a host of other characters making their appearance.

The trailer also showcases a wide range of activities within the open-world kingdom of Liones, including fishing, puzzles, flying, and cliff climbing, highlighting the many adventures players can look forward to.

The combat sequences, in particular, highlight the core elements of The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, dynamic character switching, unique skills for each hero, and visually stunning effects.

Seeing Meliodas and Tristan fighting side by side is a powerful moment that resonates deeply with fans of the original series.
 

At the end of the trailer, Meliodas reaches out his hand to the viewers, inviting them to join him, a scene that leads into the surprise announcement of the Closed Beta Test (CBT).
