Building on that momentum, the game has now rolled out its first post-launch update.
Leading the charge in this update is Mina, the Fate-Touched Fox Maiden, a beloved character from the original game known for both her striking beauty and formidable power.
Let’s take a closer look at everything this latest update has to offer alongside Mina!
A Nine-Tailed Fox… with Just One Tail?
Meet Mina, the Divine Maiden
Introduced in this latest update, Mina is a Fire-element fighter built for intense combat. Designed to excel in the chaos of battle, she combines dazzling speed with explosive ranged attacks, hurling magical fireballs that deal heavy damage from afar.
Her kit includes the Basic Attack, Foxfire Orb; Special Skill, Foxfire Blast; Switch Skill, Sparkling Flourish; Unique Trait, Essence of Fire; and Ultimate Skill, Foxfire Clone. At the heart of Mina’s gameplay is her Unique Trait, Essence of Fire.
Certain attacks allow her to absorb Essence, while enemies drained of it fall under the Charm effect. This mechanic lies at the core of Mina’s combat style and shapes the flow of battle.
When Mina has at least 1 Essence, holding the Basic Attack button consumes 1 Essence and activates Luminous Rush, allowing her to dash at high speed while attacking enemies simultaneously.

Her Ultimate Skill summons clones that remain active for a set period of time and replicate Mina’s skills.
What’s more, the amount of Essence gained from the fourth hit of her Basic Attack increases based on the number of clones on the field, significantly boosting her resource generation and enabling even flashier, high-speed combos.
Now, let’s take a closer look at Mina’s story. She is a fox spirit descended from a sacred lineage of divine maidens who serve the God of Fate.
But why does a so-called nine-tailed fox have only one tail? In the world of MONGIL: STAR DIVE, “Nine-Tailed Fox” is not simply the name of a species, but a title bestowed upon fox beastfolk of divine maiden bloodlines. As their divine power grows, so does the number of their tails, eventually reaching as many as nine.

In other words, Mina has only one tail because she is still a young divine maiden whose powers have yet to fully mature.
Despite her young age, Mina possesses exceptional abilities and carries a strong sense of responsibility in fulfilling her duties as a divine maiden. However, the burden she carries is immense, as her mother, Miho, the previous divine maiden, served as a source of strength for the beastfolk for an incredible 900 years.
Miho devoted her entire life to serving the God of Fate. Traditionally, divine maidens did not form families, and even their successors were conceived through the sacrifice of their own spiritual essence. In that sense, Miho giving birth to and raising Mina was itself part of her service to the God of Fate.
Yet only a few years after Mina was born, Miho came to understand the meaning of family love and gave birth to a second daughter, Narae, so the sisters would always have one another to rely on. Around the age of 900, with only a century remaining before her transcendence, Miho passed away. Since then, Mina and her younger sister, Narae, have lived just as their mother wished, supporting and cherishing one another deeply.
