MAVE: (MAVE),  a new global meta idol group has unleashed its first album, "Pandora's Box" on Jan. 25. MAVE: is a four-member virtual act set to debut this year, produced by Metaverse Entertainment subsidiary of the Netmarble. 

Channel Netmarble has met four girls from Metaverse Entertainment, who have continued their successful careers as idols by performing on MBC's "Show! Music Core", and attracting more than 15 million views on YouTube music videos.

Q. Hello, please introduce yourself.

MAKE NEW WAVE! Hello, we're MAVE: (MAVE)

We are SIU (SIU:), ZENA (ZENA:), TYRA (TYRA:), and MARTY (MARTY:).

Q. Let me ask you straightforwardly, where are you all from?

SIU : Actually, we don't know where or why we're here yet.

MARTY : Yes, even crash landing sites are different! I opened my eyes in Jakarta, Indonesia, 

SIU in Jeju Island, South Korea, ZENA in Paris, France, and TYRA in California, USA.

Q. You must have a different first memory of the crash landing?

SIU : Yes, I still remember the light purple sunset sky and the sea on Jeju Island.

ZENA : When I opened my eyes and woke up, I was in a Paris covered with snow. 

At that time, I feel sad and upset for no reason but thanks to the cold air, I regained my coolness.

TYRA : Me and ZENA are entirely the opposite. I remember the dazzling sun and beautiful waves on California beaches.

MARTY : Everyone's first memories are related to nature, but for me, the sky-high skyscrapers of Jakarta are the first memories.

SIU : Actually, the thing is, no one remembers how we got together and debuted in Korea. We just think of each other as "fate."

MARTY : That's right! All four of us believe that we were destined to gather because we had the same goal of becoming singers and finding freedom of emotion.

Q. How about your personality? Did you take the MBTI test?

ZENA : Of course. It's embarrassing to say it on my own, so let's introduce each other. SIU feels like a mom even though she's the same age. That’s because she’s an INFP. She is a highly empathetic person, who always cares about others. 

SIU : ZENA is an ISTP. At first, I thought it would be hard to approach her because of her appearance. However, once you got to know her better, you’ll realize that she has a sweet personality. 

TYRA : MARTY is a mood-maker! She is an ENFP that makes everyone laugh! She always has a positive mind, so I can’t hate her.

MARTY : TYRA is an ENTP. She is ambitious and competitive, and she is talented in both dancing and rapping. That's why she is the most reliable member who leads the team’s performance.

SIU : Even though we have different personalities, in terms of music, we feel like we are connected to each other. I think that makes MAVE: a very special group because we cover each other’s weaknesses and stay strong together.

Q. I heard that the big-name K-pop creators work on your album. Is that true?

TYRA : Yes, It’s true. Maxx Song and Kyler Niko, the composers behind the hit songs of K-pop have joined us in our debut album. It was a great honor to have them.

ZENA : What’s more, FreeMind, the famous dance crew that previously worked with many K-POP stars, crafted our choreography.

Q. The music video for "Pandora," has attracted more than 15 million views on YouTube! Why do you think that music video became so successful?

SIU : I just want to say thanks to FLIPEVIL, the director of our music video. As you know, FLIPEVIL is a very popular Production that has worked with many k-pop artists.

MARTY : Pandora's music video is full of a futuristic atmosphere of the virtual world, with members flying in flying cars.

ZENA : That's right. And the performance perfectly fits each member's personality. That’s why everyone's favorite points in the music video are different.

Q. You also finished your debut performance on MBC’s music program “Show! Music Core” successfully. What does it mean to you all?

ZENA : It was an honor to be on stage with many K-POP stars that we admired.

MARTY : Actually, it was fascinating to be on stage. The most exciting part was taking pictures on the so-called “Red wall in the waiting room” of Show! Music Core like other K-POP stars!

SIU : I was so thankful that the stage set was really cool. Especially, I really want to say thanks to the camera directors who knew our point choreography in advance and set it at the right angle!

TYRA: We're going to perform on Show! Music Core once again this week! So please stay tuned to MBC Show! Music Core.

Q. Please introduce the Point dance & Dance Challenge.

SIU : In the chorus of the title song "PANDORA," there's a point choreography, that is, making Pandora's box with our arms! You have to make a square with your arms in order to make Pandora’s box, which requires a bit more flexibility than you think!

MARTY : I think many people find it difficult to follow...

ZENA : So we filmed the dance challenge video to make it easier for people to follow along. You'll be able to do well if you follow along while watching our videos.

TYRA : I think the dance part where the four of us gather our hands and summon Pandora is really cool as well. The team FreeMind, who was in charge of our performance, uploaded a full video of our choreography, so I strongly recommend everyone to watch it!

Q. What are MAVE:’s dreams and goals?

SIU : Through our songs, we want to give comfort and hope to many people!

MARTY : My goal is to be a No.1 Meta Idol!

ZENA : I want to be a representative idol that comes to mind when you think of “A Talented Idol”.

TYRA : I want our team to be the best group in the world and personally, I want to be the world's No. 1 rapper!

Q. Lastly, please say something for all your fans!

SIU : I don't think there's a boundary between reality and virtuality, so we are planning to meet freely wherever our fans are!

MARTY : That's right, we want to meet our fans not only on stage, but also in games, webtoons, and sometimes in a metaverse world!

ZENA : We want to be an idol group who are consistently loved by fans because of powerful performances and solid stories. Please continue to show us a lot of interest!

TYRA : As MAVE: means 'MAKE NEW WAVE', we will try hard to lead a new wave in the K-pop scene.
