NETMARBLE REVEALS FOUTH QUARTER AND YEAR-END EARNINGS FOR 2021

LOS ANGELES – Feb. 25, 2022 – Netmarble Corp, a leading developer and publisher of mobile games, reported $656.6 million in revenue and $109.4 million in EBITDA for the fourth quarter of 2021. Overseas sales accounted for 78% ($513.1 million) of total global sales.

In 2021, Netmarble earned $2.12 billion in sales and $259.1 million in EBITDA while overseas sales accounted for 73% ($1.6 billion) of total global sales

Netmarble will launch Seven Knights Revolution, Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds Global, Golden Bros, Netmarble Pro Baseball 2022, Merge Kuya Island and BTS Dream: TinyTan House during the first half of 2022. The company is also aiming to launch six blockchain games, with the first coming in March. These include A3: Still Alive Global, Golden Bros, Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds Global, Champions: Ascension, Monster Arena (TBD) and Everybody's Marvel: Meta World.

“Our final quarter for 2021 saw notable increases in our overseas sales and EBITDA while operating profit and net profit saw substantial quarter-over-quarter growth thanks to the inclusion of titles from our acquisition of SpinX Games," said Young sig Kwon, CEO of Netmarble. "We will further solidify our competitiveness in the global market in 2022 with new titles revealed during our recent NTP event and new divisions focused on Metaverse and blockchain.”

Netmarble’s Q4 2021 financial results include:

 

  • Overseas sales consisted of 78% of Netmarble’s total sales, an 8% increase from the third quarter, with key territories including North America (43%), Korea (22%), Europe (11%), Southeast Asia (10%), Japan (9%), and other regions (5%).
  • Due to the inclusion of SpinX Games (Cash Frenzy, Jackpot World, Lotsa Slot, etc.), overall revenue for North America saw a 9% QoQ increase.
  • Top performing titles for Netmarble’s fourth quarter include MARVEL Contest of Champions (12% of revenue earned) (Kabam),  Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds (9%), Cash Frenzy (8%), Jackpot World (6%), Lotsa Slot (6%), The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross (5%), Seven Knights 2 (5%), Lineage 2: Revolution (4%), MARVEL Future Revolution (3%), Blade & Soul Revolution (3%), Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery (3%) (Jam City), and Cookie Jam (3%) (Jam City). Netmarble’s other games contributed to 33% of the company’s earned revenue.
  • With SpinX Games releases being fully recognized, Netmarble’s Casual Games contributed to 40% of revenue generated (a 18% QoQ increase). Other top performing genres include MMORPGs (26% of revenue generated) and RPGs (21%). Other genre releases also contributed to 13% of revenue generated for Netmarble’s fourth quarter.
