OCTOBER 16, 2025 - Netmarble, a renowned developer and publisher of high-quality games, has introduced a brand-new update for its AFK RPG THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK. The update features a new Legendary fighter and various in-game events for players to enjoy.

Athena Asamiya, a Legendary fighter, has been introduced to the world of THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK as part of this update.  She is a high school pop idol fighting evil to bring world peace, while her fighting style is composed of the psychic powers she was born with along with Kung Fu. The Athena Asamiya Pick-Up Event is running through October 29 to offer players an increased opportunity to recruit her to their roster. The [Endurance] Synergy Pick-Up Summon Event is also available until October 29 that allows players to receive higher odds of obtaining fighters with the [Endurance] Synergy. 

To celebrate the Halloween Eve season, a special Spooky Night 1 Event is currently underway and will run through November 5. Players who log in daily can earn valuable rewards, including the Jack-o’-Lantern profile and various power up resources such as Ruby and Fuel. Additionally, the Tropical Island Event is available until October 22, giving players the chance to obtain the Legendary pets “Anone” and “Psybunny.”

THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK is based on SNK’s “THE KING OF FIGHTERS” IP. The game features iconic fighters from “THE KING OF FIGHTERS” series reimagined in pixel art graphics that gamers are familiar with from THE KING OF FIGHTERS R-2 on NEOGEO POCKET COLOR, allowing players to build their own team of favorite Fighters and enjoy dynamic combats. The excitement intensifies with 5v5 team battles, and players can strategically create their decks by combining up to 15 different Fighters and formations.
