JULY 1, 2026 – Netmarble, a leading developer and publisher of high-quality games, announced the first major content update for its sci-fi MMORPG RF ONLINE NEXT. This new update introduces Mining War, new cross-server content, expanded progression systems, and a variety of new challenges for all players to experience worldwide.

Headlining the update is Mining War, a large-scale conflict between the game's three factions centered on securing control of the Holy Stone, one of the world's most valuable strategic resources. Before each Mining War begins, top-ranked guilds compete in the Skirmish to earn the right to represent their faction. The victorious guilds then advance to the Faction War, where the three factions battle to destroy each other's Excavators while fighting for territory, resources, and ultimate supremacy. Players who are not members of the representative guilds can also participate by joining the battle as mercenaries.

Mining War also introduces new strategic gameplay through Biosuit flight. As the battle progresses, additional aerial routes become available that allow players to infiltrate enemy territory, launch surprise attacks, and strike directly at opposing Excavators. These dynamic routes create new opportunities for coordinated strategies beyond head-on confrontation.

Victorious guilds will receive exclusive benefits, including control of server marketplace taxes, exclusive Holy Stone mining rights, and access to dedicated hunting areas. Additional guild rewards will also become available through the Guild Mothership, while the winners of the first-ever Mining War will receive the commemorative title, First Conqueror. Once Mining War concludes, all players on the server will gain access to the public mining area and its associated rewards.

The update expands the game's warfare experience with Outer Planet, a new cross-server combat region where players compete against users from multiple servers. The first area, Albern Crater, introduces a large-scale dungeon environment featuring the environmental effect Hypergravity. Players can overcome this effect through Hypergravity Resistance, Graviton, Drive, and future territorial control effects while earning Rare- and Epic-grade equipment, crafting materials, and additional progression rewards. Players can also challenge the new dungeon boss, Xenogeyser, which drops exclusive Epic-grade Prime equipment.

Additional progression content includes the new equipment category, Expansion, new Epic-grade skills, the Epic-grade MAU Pantera, the Epic-grade Launcher Basilisk, and the new five-player party dungeon, Arcane Trials. Players can tackle randomly generated encounters across multiple difficulty levels to obtain various rewards, including Adventure Coins, Nodes, collection items, Memory Chips, and the new Expansion equipment, Stargazer.

RF ONLINE NEXT, the official sequel to the globally beloved RF Online, is an epic sci-fi adventure set in a vast and evolving universe where machines replace flesh and blood. Building on its predecessor’s legacy, the game introduces a dynamic Biosuit system for seamless class switching, massive battlefield tools like the MAU and Launcher, powerful summons such as the Animus, and high-flying real-time combat that blends strategic depth with exhilarating action.
